Timón has some systemic activity but acts mainly by contact, altering the ammonium metabolism of plants with the consequent inhibition of photosynthesis.

Timón is a non-selective, post-emergent herbicide, recommended for the control of annual grass and broadleaf weeds in crops, fruit trees and grapevines. It can be used on chemical fallows, roadsides, banks of canals and ditches, among rows of annual crops, and prior to crop emergence since it is immediately inactivated when entering into contact with the soil. Do not apply near houses, populated centres or frequently transited areas. Take into account mitigation measures to avoid the contamination of water sources. It is a contact herbicide with some systemic action. Transport occurs only between leaves, predominantly from lower to upper leaves. It neutralises the synthesis of glutamine, accumulating ammonia while inhibiting photosynthesis. The first symptom of the action of Timón is the light yellowing of green parts of the plant, followed by wilt and death after 2–5 days.

Benefits:

No resistance known to glufosinate ammonium worldwide

Different mode of action compared to conventional herbicides

Broad spectrum of control herbicide with fast-burning action

Control of RR wild soybean

Provides excellent control of broadleaf weeds and grasses, and efficiency against glyphosate-tolerant weeds. This makes it a key tool for weed resistance management.
