Descripción
Metsulfuron 60 SF is a selective post-emergent herbicide for the control of broadleaf weeds in wheat and barley crops, in chemical fallow and Loblolly pine plantations. It acts by translocation and has some residual action to control weeds that germinate after treatment. It is quickly absorbed through plant roots and foliage, thus inhibiting the growth of susceptible weeds. It is most effective on small, actively growing weeds.
It is selective due to the resistance of the crops on which it is applied, as these rapidly metabolise the herbicide, thereby transforming it into non-toxic compounds.
After 1–3 weeks of product application, weeds become discoloured or turn red. High temperatures or humidity after the treatment favour its herbicidal action.
